Driving to Hampshire College
From Northampton or Interstate 91:
(From Northampton Center) Follow Bridge St. (Route 9) in the direction of Hadley, MA.
(From I-91) Take exit 19 in the direction of Route 9 and Hadley, MA
Step 1: Continue over the Calvin Coolidge Bridge on Russel Street (Route 9)
Step 2: Right on Bay Road
Step 3: Left to continue on Bay Road
Step 4: Left at Hampshire College, Bay Road Entrance
From Amherst Center:
Step 1: Head South, Past Amherst College on South Pleasant Street (Route 116)
Step 2: Continue south on West Street (Route 116)
Step 3: Right at Hampshire College, Main Entrance
Getting to Hampshire College by Bus
Peter Pan Bus Lines runs from New York and Boston to Springfield, where bus connections to Amherst may be made. Once in Amherst, take advantage of the free bus service run by the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority. From Amherst Center, take the bus that says, “Mt. Holyoke College via Hampshire College.”
Getting to Hampshire College by Train
Amtrak has limited service to Amherst and extensive service to Springfield, MA, just 30 minutes from Hampshire. If arriving in Springfield, transportation to campus is available through Peter Pan Bus Lines or by shuttle sevice.
